Where many people around the world celebrated Mother’s Day with their mothers on Sunday, a group of TAJCO colleagues joined the so-called ‘Pink Run’ event in Ningbo, which was co-hosted by Lululemon and the Westin Ningbo. The TAJCO participants in this meaningful event were Amie Blomquist, Maggie Huang, Dani Shen and our two Danish visitors Isabella Toustrup and Søren Lynge Poulsen from Group Business Controlling.
The event sets out to improve awareness of breast cancer. Each of us was given a pink ribbon badge as a reminder of breast cancer. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), “In 2020, breast cancer became the most commonly diagnosed cancer type in the world...Breast cancer was the most common cause of cancer death in women and the fifth most common cause of cancer death overall.” It’s crucial for us to show love and support to those who are fighting against cancer.
A warm-up session was provided by the instructor before the run. During the Pink Run, everyone ran at their own pace and finished at the Westin Hotel. The organisers also provided refreshments and exquisite tapas and desserts.
After the event, Isabella said: “I’m glad that we could show our support by joining this healthy and fun event with our TMN colleagues.”
Amie said: “It felt amazing to do a mini-marathon (5k) on Sunday morning, and it feels even better to run with colleagues from the TAJCO headquarters for a great cause.”
